Visits to MySpace UK Down 50% In 6 Just Months

image from eu.techcrunch.comReport: Even Dirty Tricks Can't Keep Stats Up

The number of visitors to MySpace UK  is reportedly down 50% from 10 million to 5 million in the last six months. The drop has lead to a fresh round of layoffs at the London office.

In an attempt to hide the decline,
TechCrunch Europe is reporting that MySpace  has been  buying cheap Google keyword ads to “generate dirty traffic”  that raises  any publicly accessible stats like comScore. According to their sources, Facebook is ironically now the third biggest referrer of traffic to MySpace UK.
