Scion A/V Starts A Record Label with DAM Funk, A-Trak, The Melvins & Steve Aoki

Scion-av Scion A/V's artist list for 2011/2012 is a big one with releases due from punk/metal trailblazers The Melvins, DAM Funk, the Ambassador of Boogie Funk, A-Trak and Steve Aoki! But they're also stepping up their game with more support for the artists from production to marketing to touring.

Scion A/V recently announced their 2011/2012 roster as well as their plans to take their game to a higher level:

"Scion A/V...announces today its evolution into full-service music company and its commitment to sign, nurture and produce projects for over twenty vital musical artists through 2012. Taking a larger role in the careers of artists than ever before, this is a defining moment for Scion A/V which will partner with each artist in the production of an all-original music project, a video and provide tour support as well as public relations, promotion and marketing services."

A "Partial List" of the 2011/12 roster includes a unique blend of dance and metal acts:

A-Trak
The Melvins
Switch
Steve Aoki
DâM-FunK
Immolation
Omar S
Municipal Waste
12th Planet
King Khan
Nadastrom
Reigning Sound
Win Win
Wormrot
Midnight Magic
Sheen Bros
Thee Mike B

Scion's marketing via support for artists approach was recently covered in the NY Times which points out that they've continued to pursue such tactics despite a down economy and lagging sales.

Scion's decision to step up their game during tough times is certainly a positive look for the future of corporate support for music.
