- After several violent incidents SXSW officials say they will limit free shows next year. During one particularly rough incident police on horse back responded with tasers and pepper spray when fans of Death From Above 1979 ripped down the fence outside the Beauty Bar. (Watch the video) SXSW Managing Director Roland Swenson told reporters, “It’s really disheartening to us. We’ve been doing this for 25 years. Fortunately nobody has ever been permanently injured.”
