#Midem: The Action Begins in Cannes
The registration desk is open and people are starting to arrive in Cannes for Midem, the international music industry's annual gathering of the tribes. No word yet on attendance numbers, but one Reed Midem staffer told me that they are expecting a strong year. One thing that appears to be down, is sponsorships.
No company logos on the tote bag and few almost everywhere else. Some of the signage even seems recycled from last year. Sonicbids is back sponsoring showcases and French-based Vivendi (parent of UMG have helped countrymen and show creators Reed Midem out with the marquee sponsorship (pictured above left).
