Below you will find the best way to share your files with us.
Using Logic or GarageBand?
If you are using Logic Pro, or even GarageBand, you can simply zip up your project folder and follow the Sending your files instructions below.
Pro Tools and another DAW?
If you are using Pro Tools or another DAW you'll need to consolidate each region and then export each region as an individual file. Here's a video by Justin at WinkSound.com explaining how to consolidate your regions in Pro Tools so they are all the same length.
IMPORTANT! Once the regions have been consolidated you'll want to rename the new regions to match the track names. This will reduce any unnecessary back-and-forth about the parts in your arrangement.
Now that your regions are renamed simply export your regions to a new Destination folder. Here's Justin at WinkSound.com again explaining the regions export process.
Exporting your Regions
Now simply zip up your Destination folder and send your files using one of the methods below.
Sending your files:
There are two methods for file sharing that we prefer, Dropbox.com or FTP.
With Dropbox we share files via their website, but it syncs directly with your computer. So, if we place a file in a Dropbox folder on our computer it uploads the file to the site and then syncs that file to your computer without your interaction. It's very cool! Inside our Dropbox folder you'll find one folder for each project that we work on together. Within the project folder we'll place other folders as needed.
If you prefer FTP we will create an account for you on our FTP server, send you your account information and then communicate with you via email when your files are ready. This is also very simple, but requires a FTP program like CyberDuck, FileZilla or Transmit to send and receive files. Still simple, but not as simple as Dropbox.
If for any reason you have a problem understanding the instructions above please do not hesitate to contact us. We're always happy to help. Simple fill out the form in the contact form below and we'll be in touch.
