Cricket Brings Muve Mobile Music To The Masses via Best Buy, WalMart, Dollar General & HSN

image from www.hypebot.com Mobile provider Cricket and it's Muve Music phones and service are getting wider distribution via Best Buy with WalMart, Dollar General, and Home Shopping Network coming aboard in the next two months.  Cricket announced last month that Muve Music had passed 200,000 subscribers since a January launch and that usage surpassed its better known competitors.

In the month of July, Muve Music’s usage represented 70% of all tethered streams for the top 10,000 songs tracked in the mobile applications category, according to Cricket. That includes mobile streaming from Rhapsody, Napster, Spotify and MOG.

Parent company Leap launched Cricket wireless services in 1999 and now the provider serves 5.7 million customers in the 35 states. With the expansion, in the next two months Cricket products will be available in 11,500 locations.

The Phones

With the Muve Music Smartphone plan, Best Buy customers get unlimited song downloads, ringtones and ringback tones, as well as nationwide calling, unlimited text, picture, video messaging and 3G mobile data, mobile video and data back-up for $55 per month. The Muve Music feature phone plan is available for $45 per month.

Starting this Sunday, the Samsung Vitality Android phone with Muve Music, and the ZTE Score, a new smartphone that features Muve Music, will be available at Best Buy for $199.99 and $129.99 respectively. Later this year, a new feature phone with Muve Music, the ZTE Chorus, will also be available.
