Beck Asks Band To Change Their Name
Beck's representatives contacted the Texas duo formerly known as Beck & Cauthen asking that they change their name. And despite the fact that it means that their album release is bumped until November, the two complied. Here's why, in their own words:
Hello Beck & Cauthen fans -
We are changing our name from Beck & Cauthen to Sons of Fathers.
To our surprise, we got a letter last week from representatives of Beck, who asked us to change it. We don't want to create confusion with Beck, or for that matter Jeff Beck, Glenn Beck, Beck's beer, or any other Beck. We hope he listened to some tunes from the new album, also called 'Sons of Fathers!'
It was a sign for us to change the name to something that included the whole band, not just a duo. We are all in this together and we all play a role. We used the phrase "Sons of Fathers" long before we wrote the song and changed the band name. It is our expression about the past, our families, our roots and who we are, good or bad, right or wrong.
Please follow us as we move over our to the new name:

Right now, we're focused on getting ready to play our second and third New York shows in October along with a few on the way up and on the way back. We hope to see you out there!
Sons of Fathers, it's who we are and we all stand for it.
