AM NEWS: EMI Sale Update, Aerosmith & Putumayo Go Digital, Pitchfork Gets Makeover, MOG & More

HypebotFavicon (UPDATED) EMI Sale News - Top execs at Bertelsmann, Vivendi and WMG are now stating publicly that they hope to aquire EMI. But a Digital Music News report that EMI's value is suddenly "under attack" because copyright laws could see older masters revert to artists doesn't pass the stick test. The idea that buyers are just discovering the potential impact of a 35 year old law is absurd.

  • Two Music Holdouts Finally Join The Digital Revolution - Aerosmith will be available on iTunes starting next week and world music label Putamayo has finally becoming available as downloads.  Details here.
  • Pitchfork Gets A Makeover - The new design leans more heavily on graphics and is easier to navigate.

MORE:

  • Eventbrite has added Ashley Capps to its board of directors. Capps is the founder of Knoxville promoters AC Entertainment and a co-founder of Bonnaroo.
  • MOG vs. Spotify - MOG came out the winner in an exhaustive Audiophile review.
  • Turntable.fm competitor MixApp has shut down.
